If Australia is serious about eliminating poverty, we need to measure it.
We are one of the few countries that doesn’t officially measure poverty, which leaves gaps in understanding who is affected, how and what can be done about it. Adopting official poverty measures would provide a reliable benchmark, enable governments to implement more effective policy solutions, and help hold future governments accountable.
Hearing from academic and lived experience experts, this session will allow the audience to deepen their understanding about how official poverty measures work. Speakers include:
