Decarbonising the World: COP 31

Date: Friday 24 July
Time: 2:00pm – 2:50pm
Location: Fringe Room 3
Format: Panel discussion with special guest Chris Bowen, Energy Minister

Organisation: LEAN and Smart Energy Council

Australia has a unique opportunity at COP31 to break years of deadlock and craft a global consensus that will lead to practical and genuine emissions reductions, starting immediately. By focusing on building clean energy industrial supply chains, the COP can move beyond disagreements over phasing out fossil fuels and towards building the pathway that will lead to that destination.

As President of Negotiations, Australia will play a pivotal role in restoring faith in the multilateral system to deliver real action. A solution that looks at the positive – building clean energy supply chains – delivers benefits to fossil fuel exporters looking to diversify their economies, fossil fuel importers looking to reduce their vulnerability to geopolitical risks, and anyone who wants to see real and concrete emissions reductions starting immediately.

Be part of the conversation shaping Australia’s leadership at COP31.

Panel

  • Janaline Oh, LEAN & Diplomats for Climate
